Nézzük most a második esetet, tehát a megszámlálhatatlan főneveket!

  • music, art, love, happiness
  • advice, information, news
  • furniture, luggage
  • electricity, gas, power
  • money, currency...
  • foof: rice, sugar, butter, water, milk, wine...
  • materials: food, wood...
Egyes számú formaként kezeljük őket a mondatban:
  • This news is very important.
  • Your luggage looks heavy.
  • a piece of news
  • a bottle of water
  • a grain of rice
  • a box of butter
A some és any kifejezést természetesen tudjuk használni velük is, "némi" értelemben:
  • I've got some money.
  • Have you got any rice?
Ha kevés van belőlü, akkor azt mondjuk, a little, ha sok, akkor pedig much:
  • I've got a little money.

Justin Bieber is a brand

Lányok, nektek szól a téma!

Justin, who has been become officially to a brand, gave some make.up advice

Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber delighted hundreds of his loyal fans on Thursday when he appeared at a party hosted by the fashion brand Dolce and Gabbana (D&G).
He also gave his fans some advice on makeup. Hordes of young woman showed up outside D&G’s trendy boutique in New York’s Upper East Side. He disappointed many by slipping in through the back door.
The party was the prelaunch of D&G’s new lipstick, called “Passion Duo”. Despite the “passionate duos” theme of the evening, Biber came alone, without his other half Selena Gomez. His makeup advice for women was: "A little's fine, but at the end of the day, you have to be yourself. If there's more makeup on your face than your face, then that's kind of weird," he said.
In other Bieber news, the young singer and actor is now officially a major brand.
The young Canadian has become a merchandising sensation since hitting the big time in 2008. Amazon has a huge list of back-to-school products that feature Bieber on them. Schoolgirls around the world have been buying up backpacks, pencil cases, rulers, erasers and any other stationery they can get hold of with Bieber’s image on it.
He even has a fragrance for men named after him.
Bieber has been nominated for and received numerous awards over the past few years. In 2010, he won Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards. He was also nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album. It is likely his looks and clean-cut image will continue to bring in the big bucks for merchandisers.

Divorce is on the ainerecs around the world. It seems divorce rates are rising in prytet much every country you read about. I know in my country, divorce is now not aunulus. More than thirty per cent of marriages end in divorce. I eusopps it’s easier nowadays to get a divorce, and it’s more laiysloc acceptable. I know it was more difficult to get divorced 50 years ago. People thought that there was something wrgon with you if you were a divorcee. Today, it’s cmomno to get through two, three, even more marriages. Perhaps people should htink a bit more before they get married. Divorce is pretty hard on children. When a divorce gets uylg, the kids really suffer. Sorting out divorce settlements can be a mysse business.

Use - angol mininyelvtan

használ: use - ebből képezzük a használt kifejezést is: used

valaha: used to + Infinitive

  • I used to play football a lot. Valaha sokat fociztam.

hozzászokik valamihez: to be / get used to + ing (Gerund)

  • I’ve got used to working at night. Hozzászoktam, hogy éjszaka dolgozzam.
  • She is used to travelling by helicopter. Hozzá van szokva, hogy helikopteren utazzék.

Nézzük tehát az első példamondatot!

Communication Styles of men and women

The key to getting along with others is good communication skills. This is true at home, at school, and at work. Communication is one of the biggest challenges in relationships between men and women. Researchers say that the main problem is different communication styles.
Men and women have very different communication styles. Understanding  the differences can help men and women communicate more effectively.

Men’s communication style is more direct. They usually take a direct approach to a problem and suggest a solution. Men often make decisions more quickly than women. They also prefer to make decisions by themselves. Women’s communication style is to discuss problems and ask other people for their opinions. Women like to talk with other people before they make a decision.

The topics of conversation are also different between men and women. Women like to discuss personal issues and talk about their feelings. Talking about problems is important in friendships for women. Even at school or on the job, women are more comfortable talking about personal topics and feelings.

Men, on the other hand, are less comfortable discussing their feelings. Many men don’t like to talk about emotions and feelings. Men like to talk about current events, business, and personal accomplishments. In conversations, it is important for men to see who is the leader in the group. Men often talk about important things they have done. Men build friendships by doing activities together. On the other hand, women build friendships by sharing feelings.

How do these different communication styles cause problems in relationships? There are several ways. First, women may think it is important to discuss how they feel about a problem. Men, however, prefer to come to a solution. Second, men often think that women are complaining, because women want to continue talking about their feelings. Men offer a solution to a problem, and then want to talk about something else. The third problem is that woman often think that men don’t want to discuss things. Actually, men just want to discuss different things. As men and women learn more about their different communication styles, they can better understand each other.

to getting along with others – kijönni másokkal
Understanding  the differences – megérteni a különbségeket
more effectively - hatékonyabb

Car of the year 2011

Nissan Leaf, the first full electric vehicle finalist in this contest, is the Car of the Year 2011. As it has been usual in recent years, it was a close victory.

Alfa Romeo
With 257 points, against the 248 points of Alfa Romeo Giulietta won the Nissan, and Opel/Vauxhall Meriva took the third place, with 244 points. Different approaches in voting by Jury members have produced the final result of this contest. The launch of a mass-production electric car in the market has been more awarded -twenty top points- than the sheer appeal of Alfa Romeo Giulietta or the practical originality of Opel Meriva. In spite of the lack of a large recharging network and the limited range, the Leaf represents a technical and commercial bet that might otherwise satisfy many potential consumers, especially where public incentives will come to reduce the paying price. In the history of Car of the Year, the Leaf brings the award to Nissan 18 years after the Micra, the first Japanese model to win.

Opel Meriva
The new Nissan is not properly a zero-emission vehicle if the ‘energy path’ is taken in account, but official ratings are very favourable. Range between recharges –up to 8 hours in a home supply point- varies a lot depending on the style of use.

Global English

A feladatod: jegyzetelni, röviden összefoglalni szóban.

Global English

In the last century, there have been many advances in communication technology. Technology makes it possible to communicate with people all over the world. People around the world can receive news about other countries, and learn about other cultures and people. Turn on the TV and watch the news. Local people are being interviewed in East Asia, in the Balkans, or in Africa. And they are telling us in English what is happening in their communities. English is becoming the language used to communicate around the world.

Although English is used around the world, it is not the most common native language (language spoken at home). There are about 372 million native English speakers in the world. About 5700 million people speak a native language other than English. The native language spoken by the most people in the world is Chinese. After Chinese, Hindi and Urdu have the second most speakers, followed by English. Spanish and Arabic have almost as many native speakers as English. Even in the United States, Spanish and Chinese are the native languages for many people.

Englis as official language around the world.

In many countries, English is spoken as a second language. It is used for business and in government. English is the official language of government in more than 75 countries. Even the European Central Bank has English as its official language. In India, English is very widely used. Indian English has many special words, though, and there are dictionaries of Indian English. Some countries have even developed a special kind of English that is hard for other speakers of English to understand. For example, there is Spanglish (English and Spanish), Singlish (Singaporean English) and Taglish (spoken in the Philippines).

English is the most common language used on the Internet, but this is changing. Currently, about 80% of what is on the Internet is in English. In 1999, about 54% of Internet users were native English speakers. However, non-native English speakers are the fastest growing group of new Internet users. As the use of the Internet grows around the world, other languages will be used more and more. But English will still be the language most often used to communicate between speakers of other languages, especially in business.

Google Street View - Amazonas

Street View usually lets us see what our towns and cities look like. It has even been under the oceans and on the moon.
Now Google wants us to be able to take a photo tour of the Amazon rainforest. Photographers will take photos of "some of the most remote and bio-diverse areas in the world" and create 360-degree panoramas. The project is a joint effort between Google and the Amazonas Sustainable Foundation.

Google said it wants to share images of Amazon communities and show them how to use the cameras. Google’s blog said: "By teaching locals how to operate these tools, they can continue sharing their points of view, culture and ways of life with audiences across the globe.” The project will be a valuable resource for students to use in class. However, many people say it will not be good for the Amazon villagers. They might not want to share their traditional life with the world.

Star Wars Planet Tatooine Found

Érdekes felfedezésről adott hírt ma a világsajtó. Ha szeretitek / láttátok a Star Wars-t, biztosan emlékeztek a Tatooin-ra. Megtalálták! Pontosabban megtalálták az első ilyen típusú bolygót. Nézzük a hírt angolul egy kis feladattal a valóra vált sci fi-ról...

It's a real-life Tatooine. A spectacle made popular by the "Star Wars" saga — a planet with two suns — has now been confirmed in space for the first time, astronomers revealed.

Scientists using NASA's Kepler space telescope captured details of a giant planet.
"This discovery is stunning," said study co-author Alan Boss at the Carnegie Institute in Washington. "Once again, what used to be science fiction has turned into reality." When Tatooine was depicted on film, many scientists doubted that such planets could really exist. Now there's proof.
The newfound planet keeps a distance from its stars nearly three-quarters that of the distance between the Earth and the sun. It is somewhat like Saturn in size, although nearly 50 percent denser, suggesting it is richer in heavy elements.
This alien world travels on a nearly circular 229-day orbit around its two parent stars, that keep  close to each other.
Worlds that orbit around two stars, known as circumbinary planets, had been hinted at before. "Now that we know how to detect circumbinary planets, I think we are going to find a lot more rapidly," said on eof the scientists.

(Míg a magyar nyelvben helytelen a jelen idejű "szokok" használata.)

Ich pflege jeden Morgen zu joggen. (jelen idő = még mindig szoktam)
Karl pflegt am Arbeitsplatz viel zu arbeiten.

Ich pflegte jeden Morgen zu joggen. (múlt idő = már nem szoktam)
Karl pflegte am Arbeitsplatz viel zu arbeiten.
